That’s right, most of us cannot even imagine what that would be like. In Papua New Guinea, land ownership is never really unquestionable. When our church begun looking for a place to build a meeting house (also to be used for literacy school) one of our believers, in agreement with his brothers, offered a piece of land. In March 2013, the church building/literacy school was built. Over the last couple years the ownership of that property has come into question by an individual who also happens to be a prominent member of another religious group. During the village court hearings other ‘owners’ of that property have also risen to the surface. In the most recent court hearing it was determined that our church needed to tear down the building and move to another location. The Wahgi church has pooled their resources to purchase a piece of property which will hopefully not be contested in the future and have begun the process of clearing it and laying the foundation for the new building. Through the generous donations of a few churches, they have been able to get the necessary materials and will start the building process this week! Please pray that this new start will be good for the church and that there will not be any future conflict regarding the land on which the building will sit.

Can you imagine what it would be like if someone came to your church and started to contest the ownership of the property on which the building is located?
