Week 15

April 28, 2012 by Lincoln and Alisha McIlroy

This week has been pretty busy. We started working on our biggest problem of the semester in class. I taught at the Lighthouse on Thursday, which involved a certain amount of prep time. Alisha has been watching various people’s kids all week. That and, of course, I’ve had to keep tabs on the Mariners.

Last night, Alisha and went out to eat at a nearby German restaurant. We shared some Schnitzel Cordon Bleu, which was remarkably good. It was nice to go out without the kids (can I say that?). On that note, the kids have been going through a don’t-talk-to-strangers class. Elroy is definitely learning things.

This linguistic problem we started has been somewhat difficult so far, but I hear the hardest part is still ahead of me. We have two full weeks to finish the problem. With a big problem like this, it’s important to set some goals, otherwise I end up getting behind or just lost in the size of it.

I taught about Jesus’ baptism and temptation at the Lighthouse on Thursday. Afterwards, one of the staff guys who helps was talking about what it would be like if Jesus and Satan were equals. But the fact is that they are not. And we already know the ending. Jesus has defeated Satan.

Praise:

-Some time away from homework and kids

-God’s unchanging Word to learn from

Prayer:

-Upcoming support raising

-My nephew was born premature this morning and is in NICU

-Finishing up our last month here well

Thanks!
