Well, here we are at the final week of the Linguistic course. This is the very last week of our training with New Tribes. We have enjoyed our time at the different NTM campuses, learning things and meeting people. But our training has prepared us to be tribal missionaries, and we are excited to be moving closer to that as we come home and start raising support.
There is still a lot of work I have left to do on my write-up of Cherokee before we leave. I have finished the first half, and now I have the Grammar part to do. I’ve been working probably an average of eight or nine hours a day this week on it. It’s taking more time than I thought.
Alisha has also been working hard on cleaning up the house so that we won’t have to do it all the last couple days we are here. She’s been washing walls and baseboards, cleaning ovens, dusting and packing things up and getting rid of others. The kids have also been working hard playing with their toys.
We appreciate your prayer during the time we’ve been in this linguistics course and before. We really believe that prayer is a vital part of the work we are going into. Our need for prayer will not end with this. We’re just beginning our journey into missions. We’ll be looking for people to partner with us in that way and other ways as we come home and prepare to move to Asia-Pacific.
Praise:
-We’ve had unexpected expenses with our car, and God, as always, has provided just enough at the right time.
-We’re excited to go see Lincoln’s family in Texas. We leave Thursday or Friday.
Prayer:
-There is a lot of work left to do this week. For me, on my write-up, and Alisha, cleaning the house.
-I (Lincoln) have two extended family members who have cancer: my Dad’s sister, and my Mom’s mom.
-That we get the car ready for another long trip. It needs brakes and a two tires. We plan to do that on Monday or Tuesday. You can pray that nothing else needs work.
-That we allow God towork in us and change us for his purposes, not just give us the things we want.
