We’ve spent the last two Sundays speaking at churches, and we’ve got the next 8 ones booked as well. We’re starting to feel like we really are missionaries raising support. Fortunately, all of our speaking engagements so far are in the state of Washington or pretty close to it. Having such a close connection to Village Missions has been very helpful to us.
We have been digging through some of our paperwork this week, looking for the necessary documents. It’s frustrating sometimes when they just aren’t there. We’re seeing more and more that there are many more aspects to being a missionary than just teaching people from God’s Word. And we haven’t even left the country yet.
We’re in the process of figuring out just what our recommended support level is- it seems that it might be different than we originally understood. Hopefully by the time I write a new post next week, that will be resolved. All sorts of things (support level-related and otherwise) have to be communicated with the right people overseas and at the NTM home office in Florida. Sometimes it gets a little confusing.
It’s a little bit of a strange life we’re living right now- staying at home during the week, but not seeing our church family often… traveling on the weekends and meeting new people. So far everything has worked out well, and the churches have been very receptive. Each week, we get more support and closer to leaving. Each week, it seems, we have new reasons to continue trusting God.
Praise:
-Opportunities to speak at churches and people who are interested in partnering with us
-No car problems yet and we haven’t gotten lost on the back roads of eastern Washington
Prayer:
-God’s provision week to week and in our monthly support level
-Wisdom, enthusiasm and clarity as we speak at different churches
Thanks!
