So I haven’t written an update here in a few months, and I do apologize for that. I plan to be more consistent about it, and having just bought a mobile hotspot, we should be able to do that.
Well, the last I wrote an update, we were planning our departure for June; but that has changed again. Our new date is November. That means that we need to be at 75% by the end of June, according to NTM. We are currently at 53%, so that means we need to raise about 20% in five months. That is a lot, but things have been picking up a little lately, and I know God has it all planned out.
Living here longer than we planned has given us a chance to help Alisha’s parents a little more with things around the house. Cutting, splitting and moving wood is something we do a lot of up here in the mountains. We also helped replace the countertop and sink in the kitchen recently, and I don’t think we’ll run out of projects anytime soon.
Alisha keeps pretty busy decorating for stuff like the Christmas play and the Valentines Banquet. We’re both technically on the Social Committee at our church, but I sense my place there has more to do with my muscles and ability to move large objects than my ideas and decorating sensibilities. I’ve been trying to schedule more meetings with churches, some of them outside our normal Village Missions circle of churches. It seems that the best churches to share with are the ones we may already have a connection with. So I’ve looked up some churches in areas where I formerly lived, and we hope to be making some trips soon.
So now we’ve been pushed back a full year from when we originally planned to leave (last November). It’s been slower going than we’ve wanted at times. It is frustrating to keep having to move things back. But God knows when and where He wants us to be. Still, we would really appreciate your prayers in that area.
Praise:
-New support
-A chance to help at home and be involved at church while we raise support
Prayer:
-God to provide the necessary support
-For us to have all our paperwork ready at the write time (this is actually one of the more difficult aspects of it all)
Thanks!
Lincoln, Alisha, Elroy and Evangeline
