Last month, we went to Singapore for a check-up with Alisha’s doctor since it had been 7 months since we’d been there (we were supposed to do an appointment after 3 months). Her original diagnosis was asthma, but although Alisha’s breathing improved some, we were still unsure whether it was really asthma. This time, after x-rays and a breathing test, the doctor said she thinks it is more likely some kind of acid reflux.
We don’t know whether that is what it really is or not. Alisha is able to function almost as normal as she did before this started, but she still sometimes has some breathing episodes. In a sense, it’s discouraging to still be dealing with us and not be sure what it is, but in another sense, it’s a relief that she is able to do pretty much anything she wants or needs to. So we’ll just keep moving forward and see what happens.
We are now less than a month away from moving. Alisha is busy trying to figure out what to pack, throw away, keep out for use or sell. I am trying make sure we sell as much as possible of the stuff we are not shipping to our new home. Alisha’s mom arrived last week for a 2-week visit. After she leaves, we will need to get into high gear and get everything packed and shipped. It is getting hectic, but we are trying to enjoy the time we have left here.
Not long after we arrive in our new home, a new group will arrive to begin studying language and culture. So we will probably jump in pretty quick when we get there. The kids will start school in August.
Today is a major holiday marking the end of the month of fasting for the majority religion here. Our visas are in the process of being renewed for the year. So overall, things are extremely busy and we have a lot to get done in the coming weeks. Pray for us to be able to sell, pack, ship or throw away everything we need to. Also for the kids as they try to survive all the adjustments during this month.
Thanks for praying!
