Some of you know and some of you may not know it yet, but we are back in the US. We came back here in early October and didn’t tell anyone because we wanted to surprise our families. We had originally planned on coming back in December, so it was only two months early. Anyways, this is just our regular furlough- we plan on being here until next July.
During this time, we are hoping to be able to connect with as many of our supporting churches and friends as we can. So we should be seeing many of you at some point or another over the coming months. We may try to visit a couple churches before Christmas and then more after the New Year.
Since we got back, we have started reconnecting with our home churches. We will be staying with Alisha’s mom for most of this time. The things we are busiest with now are homeschooling Elroy and Scout and cutting and splitting wood so we can stay warm over the winter.
The weather is definitely one obvious thing we are having to adjust to. Back in Asia-Pacific, we are almost never cold unless you get caught out in the rain. But here, dealing with the cold affects many aspects of our lives. The kids are having fun playing in the snow, though. We have gotten about 18 inches of it over the last month. This season is the first time in Davy’s life that he has ever seen snow and he has definitely taken to it.
A van was provided for us to use for the time we are here. That is a huge praise because we really didn’t have any funds to buy a vehicle. We recently had new prayer cards printed, so we will be wanting to get one to all of you whether by mail or by handing out at churches.
Praise:
-A place to live on furlough
-A vehicle to use
-Scout got glasses
Prayer:
-Doing health and dental check-ups for each of us while home
-Safety travelling as we visit churches
Thanks for all your prayers and support!
