Well as many of you know we have been here in the states since October and have been enjoying our time here with family (church family included) and friends immensely.
We have also been doing a lot of traveling these past few months to different churches sharing what the Lord is doing through us over seas.
We would like to thank all of you again for your prayers and support during these months we have been home. We have been blessed through so many of you from the Lord. We hardly can think of a response that seems appropriate. Just know we are truly grateful for each and every one of you!
During our time here in the states, we have been able to see several doctors and get many questions answered about the kids’ health.
As we have mentioned before, Davis has had many bouts with different sicknesses his entire life. He has gotten sick once or twice a month for about a week his entire life. After coming back to the US, his doctor here says it was due to his tonsils. So, in March he had them removed. His surgery went well and his recovery went “ok”… due mostly to the fact that he tends to be a big baby about everything 😊. But he is all healed up and doing great. He has also not been sick since his surgery. He has also been seeing a speech therapist once a week since getting here and he is talking much more! These are huge answers to prayers for many years. So, thank you all for keeping him in your prayers!!
Scout has also seen a few doctors. The couple of months before coming back to the states, she started saying she gets headaches and could not see far away. So, we took her to an ophthalmologist and she did need glasses.
The bigger health news with her is she will need oral surgery to get her wisdom teeth removed before we head back. She needs more room for her teeth to grow. She will eventually need braces but we can hold off on them til she is older, if we get her wisdom teeth out. She has the surgery scheduled for the 13th of May. We would greatly appreciate your prayers for her as she is at the younger end of having this type of surgery done.
Elroy so far is our healthy one. He has been working hard at school though and has even taught himself algebra with little to no help from me- due to the fact that I have no idea what it’s talking about most of the time 😊. He also decided to work on his growing and has grown 6” or so since being back.
Lincoln has gotten the opportunity to work for a church friend on our days we are not traveling and it has been a huge blessing for us in more ways than one!
For me (Alisha), I spend the majority of my time being a homeschool mom. We all know what blessings and challenges that brings to one’s life. Please pray for me as I prepare to head back overseas. I am the primary “planner” of the bunch. So, I get the job of making sure everyone has enough underwear (and everything else one needs in a foreign country) packed.
Praise/Prayer
- We will be needing to take several COVID tests for our journey. We will need to take 1 before we leave and 2 more when we get in country. In addition to testing we will need to do a 5 day quarantine in the capital and another one after getting back to our home. I believe that we have already had COVID this year. So, pray that we have no issues with the testing (it’s not always the best overeas).
- Our kids are looking forward to getting back. They will be adjusting to going back to school and it will be Jr High so it’s a bit different this time. Pray they adjust well.
- Pray that we will be able to spend good quality time with family and friends. As we draw closer to leaving we are already staring to miss you all.
- We go back to the field in early July, so pray that we can get everything done.
