I’ve been reading Jeremiah lately. It’s a long, depressing book, in a way. But it’s an example of someone obeying God regardless of what people thought of him.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
And recently I read something that sounded a lot like the people we will be working with. Jer. 16:19 says,<\/p>\n
“O Lord, my strength and my stronghold, and my refuge in the day of distress, to You the nations will come from the ends of the earth and say, ‘Our fathers have inherited nothing but falsehood, futility and things of no profit.'”<\/p>\n
When I read that, I thought of all the stories I’ve heard of tribal people who wanted to hear the truth of God’s Word, but needed someone to bring it to them. It’s a reminder that what the world considers truth is futile and harmful.<\/p>\n
It reminded me of just what we are doing and was an encouragement to me to continue raising support. On that note, we’ve had another jump in support, which puts us at 68%. We really feel like we’re going to make it to 75% now in time to leave in November. It’s kind of exciting.<\/p>\n
So thanks for your prayers. They’re paying off.<\/p>\n
Praise:<\/p>\n
-Getting closer every week to the minimum percentage we need to leave<\/p>\n
-More churches who want to hear us speak<\/p>\n
Prayer:<\/p>\n
-To get all our paperwork and shots and everything else we need at the right time<\/p>\n
-That the remaining support we need comes quickly<\/p>\n
