And today, we had a field fair- three of the regions had representatives come and share with us this morning about the opportunity in their areas of ministry.

One region is a large island almost straight north of us. Another is a large group of smaller islands just east of there, and the last is one large island at the east end of the country. Each one has a number of tribes who have been surveyed and are ready for missionaries to come in, and a lot more that have not been surveyed but still need missionaries. My understanding is that the easternmost one probably has the most.

We haven’t made a decision yet and probably won’t for several months yet. We are encouraged to visit one or more of these regions to see firsthand what is going on there and what each area is like. This is a big decision for us- we’ll be choosing where we will spend much of the next few decades. So this is something that you can pray for us in.

We are continuing our language study 40 hours each week, and making progress. We are expected to do about half our language learning here, and the other half in a city in the region we choose. We are enjoying living here, but it’s kind of hard knowing we’ll only be here for a year. There are a lot of steps involved in getting to a tribe and planting a church, and this is one of them.

This next week, we have to go out of the country to have our visas renewed.
