How many insects are required each day to feed all the birds in Maine?
I recently read an article that estimated the number of insects eaten by each bird and the number of birds in an acre and multiplied that by the number of acres in Maine. The staggering total of bugs needed to feed the birds in Maine every day is over 25 billion!!!
This is just one of the many facts we never really think about as we go about our daily business. Neither did I think about what it takes to house the 99 single students that are expected to arrive in a couple of weeks to start the fall semester here at NTBI Jackson.
Over the summer, the entire third floor that houses the single girls was completely repainted which required removing all furniture. This week, I was part of the crew replacing those beds, dressers, desks, chairs, sofas and it felt like there were 25 billion to move.
Just one of the many events that go on behind the scenes so that young men and women can have the opportunity to receive a biblical foundation that will equip them for life and missionary service and so Expand the Reach of the Gospel!
The beds and desks are ready, now pray that hearts will be ready to receive the word that James says ‘is able to save your souls’. Pray for us and all the staff who teach and disciple one on one that we will be ready and available to ‘spread the fragrance of the knowledge of Christ’ to the students we have the privilege to rub shoulders with day by day.
