Maturity

23 April, 2007 by

I was looking for a good multivitamin the other day.  There were ones for ladies, men, adults and then there were ones for mature adults.  I couldn’t believe it when mature adults were considered 50 years and older.  Aaahh, I qualified!

I read a number of years ago in a book that maturity simply means that you are quicker to admit you are wrong.

A few nights ago, my wife and I had one of those silly falling outs over something trivial.  Even when we apologised I still thought I had a case.  Next morning, though, I realised how immature it was to try to justify my bad attitude.

Isn’t that something, a mature adult, according to the vitamin manufacturers and yet, according to God’s Word, totally immature.

I surely don’t want to admit my maturity when it comes to multivitamins and, yet, the Spirit of God within yearns for me to be known for my spiritual maturity – being quicker to admit when I am wrong.
