We were getting used to the new normal of chemo when things took a turn for the worse a few weeks ago. I was admitted to hospital with what they discovered was an infection. The infection needed to be treated before I could continue my chemo, so I was discharged from hospital. Lisa was taught how to set up an IV so I could continue IV treatment at home. Pray for grace to deal with the fatigue and that the antibiotic will deal with the infection.
April 9, saw our sweet daughter, Martha, get engaged to Bryan Conard. Bryan is from South Carolina, has finished his training at NTBI Jackson and for the past year has been working on the intern program at the school. We are trusting that he and Martha will have a long and happy life together. They plan on a June 15 wedding so I am sure that they would appreciate your prayers as they make plans and that they would begin to see those plans fall into place.
Benjamin and Missy have opportunity to spend time with their whole team this month. They continue to look to the Lord for wisdom as to which tribal group in which to work. They have many issues that need to be discussed regarding strategy for the move into the tribe. Pray for them as it will be a valuable month for them. Also, pray for God’s provision to gather needed building materials.
Meantime, the missionaries among the Biem have just finished their first literacy class. The goal is to have as many readers as possible by the time they start teaching. That way the people will be able to follow the notes. A major step in that is to have scriptures translated and checked. A part of the checking process is to provide a ‘back to English’ translation which is a literal, word for word translation from Biem to English. Pray for the team as they prepare for teaching. This is Gen 1 in Biem.
So so far before, in the time that God made the land and sky, He was there and he spoke and land and sky they just became. He didn’t make them with anything. With just words he made them.
In the North Waghi, two more have expressed their faith in Christ, praise the Lord, the Holy Spirit is still at work using his Word to bring conviction.

2 Corinthians 4:16–18…Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
