The Mengens use the phrase, ‘Ore maisi nga gigu’. It means he is stannding at my back. And it means that some one is supporting you!
The dictionary says as follow.
sup·port
1. to bear or hold up (a load, mass, structure, part, etc.); serve as a foundation for.
2. to sustain or withstand (weight, pressure, strain, etc.) without giving way; serve as a prop for.
3. to undergo or endure, especially with patience or submission; tolerate.
4. to sustain (a person, the mind, spirits, courage, etc.) under trial or affliction: They supported him throughout his ordeal.
5. to maintain (a person, family, establishment, institution, etc.) by supplying with things necessary to existence; provide for: to support a family.
Now today I would like to say thanks to Simon and Annika Flanagan! They are our co workers in the bush where we are working and they support us.
They:
1. bear and hold us up
2. sustain and withstand without giving way.
3. undergo and endure, especially with patience and tolerates us.
4. sustains us under trial and affliction.
5. maintain us by supplying with things necessary for us to function as misisonaries with them.
How can we ever thank them enough as well as our other co workers Kerry Pacheco and Becky Preheim as well as all our supporters on the centre and all of you guys at home?
Ore pe pana ong orka maisi nga gimang!
THANKS for stanidng at our backs!
Lourens for the Mengen people.
