Hi Friends,
For many years the Mengen church has gone through many tough times. The church had a very slow start. Missionaries came and went and the work never really got off the ground. Then in 2008 Dave and Judy Wright returned to their old work to help finally get it off the ground.
The first phase of evangelical lessons were taught and the church was born amongst the Mengen people. Through persecution, hard times, faithful teaching and discipleship, the church has grown into a functioning body.
Now the Lord is also starting to open doors into new areas and the Mengen church is more and more sending out potential teachers and missionaries to do surveys.
Here is a photo of a team flying to the furthest end of their people group to visit villages that seem to be interested in hearing the Gospel. The older man’s name is Pabiure and he is about 87 years old. He has never flown in a plane before.
His son-in-law, sons and grandson are going to visit his fellow clan members and he said he wanted to go with them and give a testimony of what God has done in his life!
Amazing story! Never think you are too old!
Please be praying for these men as they spend time with the people in two villages in the furthest end of the Mengen people group and that God will create a great hunger in the hearts of the people.
Blessings,
Lourens
