Dear friends,
Kariang is a friend of ours that have come many years with us! She has been one of the first Mengen believers and have walked faithfully with the Lord since then. She works close with our co Worker in the translation process. (She’s the one on the left of the photo and her mother is on the right side.)
Kariang was born and raised in a village down the mountain from us. This village remains closed to the Gospel even now. For Kariang, it is a real struggle as she sees her extended family rejecting God’s Word. Over the years, her deepest concern has been for her elderly mother.
This week word came that Kariang’s mother is sick and perhaps near death. We aren’t sure how serious things are as the message was passed on by word of mouth, but Kariang has gone back to her home village for a few days, to be with her family at this time.
Would you pray for Kariang, that the Lord would give her many opportunities to witness with her family and neighbors?? Pray especially for uninterrupted time with her mother, and that she would be able to clearly explain the way of salvation to her. (Typically when someone is sick, dozens of visitors gather around. It would be difficult for Kariang to say anything personal with half the village surrounding her. Plus the fact that these folks are not interested in hearing “God’s talk”.)
No doubt these are very difficult days for Kariang and I know that she would appreciate your prayers.
As for Rebecca our co worker, things are going well. She has just over 2 weeks to finish a mountain of work, but she feels cautiously optimistic about how things are going! It will be great to have another 7 books of the Bible translated and into the hands of the Mengen people in the days ahead. Also keep her in your prayers.
Thanks so much for your faithful prayers.
Blessings

Will pray for Kariang. May Deuteronomy 31:8 be reality for. In Christ. Ruth
