Soon, tree frogs mingled with the sound of crickets, break the silence.\u00a0 He hears angry shouts as villagers argue over some event.\u00a0 Somewhere in the darkness, other tribal men are playing their kundu drums and singing to the ancestral spirits; \u00a0It\u2019s a sad lonely wail filled with hopelessness.<\/p>\n<p>But the night sounds in this Mengen village are starting to change, and this Mengen man is starting to notice. Now, among the sounds of frogs and crickets, and the occasional loud discussion, a new sound appears. It is singing.
