Marc’s Testimony:
“ I grew up in a Christian home, attended a Christian school, and was challenged with missions at a young age. After graduating from high school, I began to live for myself. But when I was 22, the Holy Spirit began to convict me about the life I was living at the time, and through different circumstances and some key people in my life the Lord began to show me that I needed to make some changes. It was at this crossroads of my life that I chose to take a different path. I decided to quit my full-time job and attend New Tribes Bible Institute to pursue a career in missions. I wanted to have a part in what God was doing in the world today, not just live out my own self-absorbed life. It was at NTBI that I met my wife Alison.”
Alison’s Testimony:
“ I also grew up in a Christian home and came to know the Lord as my Savior at a young age. My family was always interested in world missions and my parents instilled in me a desire to serve the Lord. I had the opportunity to serve on some short-term missions teams throughout my high-school years, and through those experiences I heard about the opportunity to go New Tribes Bible Institute. God challenged my heart, and opened my eyes to the great need for missions all around the world. “
We married in the summer of 2000 and now have three amazing children: Andrew, Brandon, and Chloe. Ever since we met, we have had a heart and passion to see unreached people groups reached with the Gospel. As missionaries with New Tribes Mission we have had the opportunity to serve overseas in Papua New Guinea two years and to serve six years as part of the training staff at New Tribes Bible Institute, in Jackson, Michigan. We have been tremendously blessed to be a part of the work of NTM and are looking forward to the ministry the Lord has for us back in Papua New Guinea.
Our Ministry
Our goal is to arrive on the field of Papua New Guinea by the end of 2016. We will serve the Lord there as part of the team that supports ministries in over 50 different remote tribal locations, many of which are reachable only by boat, helicopter, or small plane. Missionaries in Papua New Guinea live deep in the jungle and their lifeline is a team of missionaries that provide air support, communication, medical care, educational assistance for their children, and a way to get in needed supplies, foods, resources and materials to live and minister in such remote locations. The particular ministry we will be a part of is just that, supply buying for over 36 tribal missionaries in the Sepik Region of Papua New Guinea. Picture yourself in the middle of the Jungle. It takes several hundred dollars and a plane ride to get to the nearest store. Worse, it means days away from your important work, bringing the gospel to an isolated people group. Wouldn’t you want help? That’s where we will come in. It will be a blessing to be able to save missionaries thousands of dollars and hundreds of days by serving them as supply buyers. And it will be an opportunity to play a vital role in establishing churches in remote villages
Papua New Guinea
There are 860 tribal groups in PNG. Hundreds of these do not have the Bible in their own language. Many of these groups are writing letters and making pleas for missionaries to come. Right now the door to Papua New Guinea is wide open and many of the people have a real hunger to hear the gospel.
