After being married for a couple of years and recently rededicating our lives to Christ, we were beginning to think about and plan for a family. We both had many ideas and goals for our lives but building a family and serving the Lord was our top desire. In early 2000, the first phase, serving the Lord, was taking shape. We were living in Clearwater, Florida at the time and hosted a missionary family that our church, Clearwater Christian Center, supported during the yearly Missions Conference. That family was just about to begin their missionary journey with Missionary Aviation Fellowship, MAF, overseas. Grady Maynard, the husband, had just finished his missionary pilot training at Moody Bible Institute in Tennessee. They had the opportunity to stay with us for almost the entire week and we were blessed to hear the things God was doing in their lives and how he was using Grady’s desire to fly airplanes to direct them. After they left for home to continue their journey, Angela and I didn’t think much about how this meeting would affect our future in missions but the passion was building in our hearts.
As the years passed by Marc continued to think about flying and Angela talked about mission trips off and on, but we were expanding our family and didn’t think that serving the Lord in missions would be possible.
