Mark recently had the privilege to go on a survey trip evaluating new locations for presenting the Gospel among the Ayoré people here in Paraguay. He had fun traveling with three different church planters about six hours over some pretty rough roads with several muddy stretches. It was a great time of fun and fellowship.
We do praise the Lord that there is a church among the Ayoré. The question is how to mentor, disciple, and help these believers plant a church in a new village that is several hours away from their home village and church.
Some of these believers have been traveling and teaching in one village with NTM missionaries, John and Rebecca Keefe, over the past three years. However, there are still other villages to be reached. In order to see a mature church planted and believers discipled, someone needs to move over to this location permanently in order to teach on a regular basis. John and Rebecca have rented a home near these villages and hope to move over there with some of the Ayoré believers. Please pray that God will raise up believers who can move with them and teach among these unreached people.
Many of these people are steeped in animism and have been strongly influenced by “works for salvation” religions. Pray that the truth of the Gospel will open their eyes to the free gift of salvation!
