Do you ever feel overwhelmed by all the needs and opportunities in the world? \u00a0There are terrorists in our world, injustices in our country, sick\u00a0people in our state,\u00a0and homeless people in our city. \u00a0There are struggling families at the grocery store, doubting individuals in our churches, and lonely neighbors next door. \u00a0There are orphans, trafficked people, martyrs, starving children, and people with no opportunity to hear the hope of Jesus. \u00a0If I open my news app or scroll through my Facebook feed, I am confronted with sin, pain, and so much need. \u00a0So what are we to do?

I have always liked the verse I mentioned at the beginning. \u00a0It’s not a nice-sounding one you’d memorize in Sunday School or post with a nature background on social media, but it is so interesting. \u00a0It has always been intriguing to me, because before he died, David completed God\u2019s purpose for him. \u00a0Obviously he hadn\u2019t done every good thing he could have, but he served the purpose God had planned for him.

Something I’ve struggled with since being back on furlough is the question of how to spend my time. \u00a0There are so many things I need to do, and so many things I\u00a0could\u00a0<\/em>do, but only so many hours in the day. \u00a0There is not time to do everything, but there is time to do what God has purposed for me, so I’m trying to seek Him in that. \u00a0I believe that if I seek His will with all of my heart, He will enable me to serve the purpose He has for me in my own generation.

Please pray for us as we seek to balance all the things that are on our hearts to be involved with in this short time: dealing with medical things, giving our boys opportunities they don’t have in PNG, homeschooling, working on Matt’s degree,\u00a0debriefing and preparing to go back, spending time with family and friends, connecting with supporters, being involved with our church, working on visa paperwork, sharing with churches, witnessing to our neighbors, etc. etc. etc. \u00a0We need wisdom about what things the Lord is calling us to do, and what things we need to let go.

– I had a good time re-connecting with family we hadn’t seen in a while at a wedding

– Wyck is now doing speech therapy three times a week. \u00a0Pray that it helps him to improve.
– Pray for an issue to be resolved that we are having \u00a0with the speech clinic.
– Matt will go to Virginia next month for an intensive class. \u00a0Pray that it goes well for him and for us.
– Pray for our church as they are dealing with decisions regarding the building<\/td><\/tr>

What are we supporting? \u00a0This month’s tribal focus: \u00a0Pray for the Menya church. \u00a0The Menya church was born in 2018, and they are currently learning from the book of Romans. \u00a0Missionary Wes Chappell writes, “One of the believers, Ponji, shares his testimony\u2014 before he believed in the Gospel, he did not think it was possible to know if he was saved, because he didn\u2019t know if he had done enough good works to get to heaven. But now, he is trusting in Christ\u2019s finished work on the cross and has the assurance that Paul quotes in Romans 4:7-8. The Menyan believers are enjoying their salvation and are thankful for the Lord\u2019s sacrifice for them as God\u2019s Word continues to change their lives.”<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
