-Says our guest speaker in Field Health class today. I start laughing, despite knowing that there will be unpleasant information to come.
Our topic? Tropical parasites, and more specifically, worms. I’ll spare you the gory details, but suffice it to say, there are some nasty diseases out there!!
The speaker goes through an informative power-point, enthusiastically giving us the details which I’m so thoughtfully leaving to your imagination, and at the end, thanks us all for being willing to pursue overseas missions.
I want to jokingly tell him that he’s managed to convince at least half of us that God probably wants us to do something else with our lives after all but he beats me to it.
Jokes aside though, I’m grateful for today. Today’s class, and many others recently have forced me to really think about why I want to be a missionary. I’m thankful for the opportunity that we have at the training center, to assess and push ourselves, to learn and grow, and to become fully convinced not only of what we’re doing with our lives, but why we’re doing it.
