- Mike and I along with the kids enjoyed a full and busy summer with family and friends, and were blessed and amazed at how God provided for us through generous people. We arrived safely back in Missouri on Tuesday, August 7, and immediately had a pre-op appointment for Jesse the next day in preparation for his tonsil surgery that Friday. His surgery went well, and we have been so encouraged by his health, and improved sleeping habits.
Shortly after, school started for us and the kids. As many of you know, we are homeschooling Nicole and Jesse this year. We are so thankful to be able to do this and appreciate the leadership in New Tribes allowing us to give it a try even as we are students here in the training. The first few weeks so far have been good, and we are getting into a routine. The kids sit at a table in another room next to our classroom and work on daily assignments that I write out each day. We have enjoyed different activities that homeschoolers get to experience like impromptu research on a scorpion we found, learning to sew, cooking, and the kids even get to join us in our Missionary Technology Lab where we have learned soldering. It’s a blessing having them here with us.
It has been good getting back into our different outreaches in the community, the kids and I at a nursing home, and Mike at a homeless shelter. Relationships are picking up where they left off before the summer, and new ones are being made. Mike has jumped back into playing drums Sunday mornings at our church The Rock House, and we are really feeling apart of this community.
Keep us in your prayers! We have a busy semester, and need to be able to balance a full load. Some of the classes we are looking forward to are, Families in Ministry, Field Health and Biblical Peacemaking, among many others!
We are learning so much and still have so many areas that continued to be challenged on a daily basis. Please be praying for God to continue to mold us into people after His own heart, that we do not loose focus of God’s heart for the nations. We have a lot of decisions to make this year, and are really seeking guidance and direction from the Lord for where He would have us serve- would you join us in this prayer?
Thank you dear friends and family~
All our love,
Kristi for the Day family
