Not many, that&#8217;s why we decided to try it twice in 2 years! We moved from California to Wisconsin in December 2009, and from Wisconsin to Missouri in December 2011.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_114\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-114\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/mike-day\/files\/2012\/01\/IMG_1805.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-114\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/mike-day\/files\/2012\/01\/IMG_1805-300x295.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"295\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/mike-day\/files\/2012\/01\/IMG_1805-300x295.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/mike-day\/files\/2012\/01\/IMG_1805.jpeg 488w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-114\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Our apartment at the MTC<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>While studying at\u00a0<a title=\"NTBI\" href=\"http:\/\/ntbi.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">NTBI\u00a0<\/a>the 4 of us lived in a 500sqft one-bedroom apartment. We really enjoyed it for the most part, but we were happy to move into a 4-bedroom at the\u00a0<a title=\"MTC\" href=\"http:\/\/usa.ntm.org\/mtc-overview\" target=\"_blank\">MTC<\/a>&#8230;even if we did have to walk to &#8220;wash-house east&#8221; for our shower and laundry needs.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_115\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-115\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/mike-day\/files\/2012\/01\/IMG_1321.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-115\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/mike-day\/files\/2012\/01\/IMG_1321-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/mike-day\/files\/2012\/01\/IMG_1321-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/mike-day\/files\/2012\/01\/IMG_1321.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-115\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Our class has about 30 students in it<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We are in class about 20 hours a week. Our\u00a0<a title=\"first semester classes\" href=\"http:\/\/usa.ntm.org\/academics#first\" target=\"_blank\">first semester classes<\/a>\u00a0at the MTC were eye-opening, practical, and challenging! A few of our favorite subjects were Worldview, Foundational Bible Teaching, and Linguistics.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_116\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-116\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/mike-day\/files\/2012\/01\/IMG_1213.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-116\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/mike-day\/files\/2012\/01\/IMG_1213-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/mike-day\/files\/2012\/01\/IMG_1213-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/mike-day\/files\/2012\/01\/IMG_1213-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/mike-day\/files\/2012\/01\/IMG_1213.jpeg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-116\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Some classmates and I are on the grounds crew for work duty<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The guys on campus invest 8 hours a week helping the staff maintain our huge\u00a0<a title=\"campus\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ntm.org\/train\/tmc_campus_photos.php?page=campus%20photos&amp;io=3\" target=\"_blank\">campus<\/a>. I was on grounds crew first semester. I can now add &#8220;able to start every make and model of lawn-mower and weed-wacker&#8221; on my resume!<\/p>\n<p>The men also spend 8 hours a week investing in various ministries off-campus. I was involved in a Bible study for men at a homeless shelter, played drums for the worship team at church, and occasionally went with Kristi and the kids to visit the nursing home.<\/p>\n<p>The women spend 4 hours a week investing in various ministries off-campus. Kristi did an amazing job volunteering at a nursing home. She did that faithfully twice a week all through the semester.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/mike-day\/files\/2012\/01\/IMG_0952.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-118\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/mike-day\/files\/2012\/01\/IMG_0952-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"The lake\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/mike-day\/files\/2012\/01\/IMG_0952-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/mike-day\/files\/2012\/01\/IMG_0952.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>We are blessed to have a beautiful lake right on campus! When we get a little free time, we enjoy fishing, swimming, and going out on the canoes.\u00a0We are so thankful to be on this journey together as a family. We are learning so much about the Lord, ourselves, and the world.
