{"id":396,"date":"2016-03-27T16:05:41","date_gmt":"2016-03-27T20:05:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/miles-templeton\/?p=396"},"modified":"2016-03-28T10:32:39","modified_gmt":"2016-03-28T14:32:39","slug":"all-ages-and-stages","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/miles-templeton\/2016\/03\/27\/all-ages-and-stages\/","title":{"rendered":"All ages and stages"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/miles-templeton\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/102\/files\/2016\/03\/IMG_1625.jpeg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-397\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-397\" title=\"IMG_1625\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/miles-templeton\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/102\/files\/2016\/03\/IMG_1625-300x225.jpeg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/miles-templeton\/files\/2016\/03\/IMG_1625-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/miles-templeton\/files\/2016\/03\/IMG_1625-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/miles-templeton\/files\/2016\/03\/IMG_1625-600x450.jpeg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/miles-templeton\/files\/2016\/03\/IMG_1625-147x110.jpeg 147w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/miles-templeton\/files\/2016\/03\/IMG_1625-250x188.jpeg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>We have had an interesting few weeks recently and the phrase that came to my mind is that God is allowing us to minister in lives of \u201call ages and stages.\u201d \u00a0I had a mid-morning phone call one day from a language school student (Americans learning Portuguese) asking if I could watch her little boy, Isaque, for a couple of hours in the afternoon. \u00a0Her husband was not well and she needed to be in class. \u00a0So we were happy to be able to do that. \u00a0Meanwhile, I got to have a \u201cgrandma fix\u201d while taking care of this little guy.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"A774799D-7992-40C0-B4D5-80DEF2FC12A4\" class=\"\" src=\"cid:CC21DC3D-0057-41FF-AA9E-6687E678F7F5@Home\" alt=\"\" width=\"1124\" height=\"843\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Later in the afternoon of that same day, we had a &#8220;coffee break&#8221; with our co-workers Paulo and Neli Jancitsky. \u00a0They are now retired and both celebrate their birthdays within a week. \u00a0That day just happened to be Nel&#8217;s birthday and we had brownies and whipped cream with our coffee to celebrate with them. \u00a0Paulo is going to need to have a pacemaker implant soon. \u00a0Pray for him<\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">That evening we invited a young couple to come for waffles with us. \u00a0Kleber and Kelly and two young daughters are in the missionary training across the street from us. \u00a0They came to study here from a different \u201cevangelical \u201c background and are loving the training that they are receiving here. \u00a0We have enjoyed getting to know them and endeavoring to be an encouragement to therm.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"C696E191-4D14-42E7-8716-C91351E51575\" class=\"\" src=\"cid:3225620D-2734-469C-8A63-0AD0F89920D6@Home\" alt=\"\" width=\"1124\" height=\"843\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">A few days later we had week&#8211;end company from the USA. Don and Glenda Greenwood were returning to Brazil to spend a month with their daughter and son in law who minister in a tribal area a long distance to the north of us . \u00a0Several years ago Don and Glenda helped in a church plant in a small interior town near this tribal ministry and they were coming back to visit and attend a baptismal service. \u00a0It was a blessing to have Don and Glenda here, to reminisce over the past as they also worked here at the MK school with us. \u00a0We took them to the airport the day they flew north to their daughter\u2019s home for the rest of their time in Brazil<\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"DBC1E4AB-B272-4D94-BC9B-345E095C8AC4\" class=\"\" src=\"cid:F1271361-07FF-4A3F-9247-2543ABB86656@Home\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Whenever we are not on a trip somewhere, we are involved in evangelism and even member care\/encouragement nearer to home. \u00a0In February we began studying the chronological Bible study with a young couple who live near us. \u00a0Elionaldo was formerly self-employed in all kinds of wood working projects in construction. \u00a0But, a little over a year ago he was working on a project and carrying a metal piece from one place to another high up on the construction structure \u00a0and came into contact with high tension wires. \u00a0He was badly burned on one side of his body and eventually had to have both legs amputated just above the knee. \u00a0He is in rehabilitation and physical therapy and hopes to soon be able to get two prothesis and begin to walk again. \u00a0We are glad that his wife Elisangela and two daughters, Vitoria (12) and Naiara (18) are also studying with us. \u00a0Our local church first reached out to them through our \u201cfood basket\u201d ministry which takes baskets\/boxes of food staples to families in financial need. \u00a0Then they were invited to study God\u2019s Word and accepted that invitation. \u00a0Please pray with us that they will also come to accept the most important invitation, to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. \u00a0We are just ready to start in the new testament in our study time with them.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"389EF830-0A12-41BB-A20E-54E5EFA8BCA2\" class=\"\" src=\"cid:4CE2D828-E38F-4FF7-8FD6-831AE69DB338@Home\" alt=\"\" width=\"1124\" height=\"843\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Our most recent visit was to our dear friend Judith Pinheiros who is now 98 years old. \u00a0Judith has been a long time friend of ours, and a most dedicated prayer partner before God\u2019s throne in behalf of missionaries. \u00a0Many long hours she has prayed and yet continues to do so. \u00a0She is praying for God to \u201ctaker her home soon\u201d but we also encouraged her to be a witness in this new mission field where God has placed her. \u00a0She is in a very nice nursing home where she is very well cared for by several health care professionals. \u00a0It is a bright and cheery place and she is happy there, except that she has no Christian fellowship. \u00a0So, we have shared this with several in our mission community hoping to raise awareness for folks to go and pay her a visit now and then. We are so thankful for our friend, Judith.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"88A37A81-A1EE-4016-8D65-651F0B8CF4B8\" class=\"\" src=\"cid:88804612-986B-44E1-A7E5-725BB30DE594@Home\" alt=\"\" width=\"1124\" height=\"843\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Yes, our lives touch the lives of others in all \u201cages and stages\u201d and we ask God to make us a blessing wherever He places us.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a
