Thank you for praying! The new Bible portions arrived in time for Christmas. It was a blessing to be able to give them out on Christmas morning at the teaching time. The believers are thrilled to have the new Epistles to study.
We have had a lot of ups and downs. It has been encouraging to see the believers continue to study through I Corinthians. Paska taught the last lesson on I Corinthians this morning. A couple of weeks ago there was no service held. The entire island was in a major fight all day Sunday. It was very sad to see clan against clan for no clear reason – just lots of little things that were building up until it blew up. They were all very worked up and it was ugly. We live in the Island’s region of Papua New Guinea where the people are laid back and don’t get worked up as quickly as they do in other areas of PNG – but you wouldn’t have known it! We were pleased to see the believers restraining themselves, instead of allowing their clans to pull them into the middle of it. This past week there was a funeral and everyone was afraid the fight was going to flare up again during the funeral since the whole community has to work together to put together the food, etc. for the funeral. They decided to have a “reconciliation time”. It was kind of a forced thing, but the funeral was able to take place without any more fighting. So that was a praise.
In a couple of weeks we will be moving back to town for our last turn at babysitting the guesthouse. We have new managers coming in March. We are very thankful that we will be done with that job. We know the Lord knows where our time needs to be spent and we trust Him to use us where He places us!
Please continue to pray for Ned’s mom, Judy Beall, as she has her next to the last chemo treatment this week. Each one takes a little longer to recover from.
Thank you for your prayers! We couldn’t be here without you.
Blessings, Ned, Linn, Kara Linn, Josiah, Bethany, Savannah, Zachary, Christina and Garrett Mack Beall
