We are getting encouraging reports on the new teaching that is going on in Tigak land! The teaching is happening every Sunday. The Tigak Bible teachers are now doing two lessons every Sunday so that they can get from Creation to Christ sooner. On Tuesday evenings, Tom is meeting with the Bible teachers and encouraging and discipling them. On Wednesday evenings it is the ladies turn to meet with Beth and Aimee. They are free to ask questions without the men around. The believers are excited about the new Tigaks being taught and are growing in their own walk with the Lord. If you want a lot more details on what is happening on our island you can read Tom and Beth’s blog at http://thatallmayknow.org/ or Aimee’s blog at http://aimeehedrick.wordpress.com/ . They do a great job giving lots of details about life among the Tigak.
We have many speaking engagements planned for the next couple of months. During the weekdays, Linn is focused on teaching our kids and Ned is diligently working on Bible translation. Before school started we put a lot of miles on the van. We enjoyed the special time we had with family before Bethany and Kara Linn headed to Wisconsin for Bible school. They are both working hard and enjoying their time to study God’s Word in depth. Before Bethany headed to Bible school she had to make three special cakes – two for August birthdays and one for my parent’s early 50th wedding anniversary celebration. We aren’t sure what we are going to do without our “party planner” around.
It has been great to have Josiah living with us. He is working full time and has a part time job this semester while he is deciding what to pursue next for a career. He hopes to bring a work team to PNG next summer so all his hours of working will allow him to save up money for that!
