Thank you for your faithful prayers. We know we are being prayed for as the Lord continues to give us the strength to continue on. Pray for the Tigak church as we are studying the book of Ephesians together. We are seeing encouraging signs of growth as the believing husbands and wives are learning to apply the truths in Ephesians to their own marriages and families.
As in most of our lives, change is slow but we thank the Lord for what He is doing to build the church. It really goes against their Tigak culture to show love and respect, but they have watched the missionary families that have been here and see that when the principles are applied to daily life it makes a difference in how we treat each other and our children. Talk about pressure! We are constantly under the microscope!
It is continuing to be a very dry time all over the country of Papua New Guinea. We personally are not having a problem yet, since there are only three of us living in our house now, so the water goes a lot farther!
Pray for the Martinez family as they have begun full time culture and language learning. It is a challenging job and Noe’s heart is pulling him to be discipling the young men, but he also knows if he doesn’t stay focused on language learning – it won’t happen. As in most things – it is a balancing act to figure out exactly where our time each day should be spent.
We have many business trips to make in the next year. We are trusting that the Lord will allow them to all come about. Ned was able to do a translation check for another missionary this past week. We were in town for a few nights filling in while another missionary traveled into his tribal location to do some teaching. Linn was also able to do supply buying for another missionary family who is in a helicopter only location and will have helicopter shuttles soon. At our guesthouse in town we are in between managers who also do supply buying, so we are all having to work together to get the jobs done that need done.
Please continue to pray for our four kids in the USA as they make life decisions. Especially pray for Josiah as he is trying to finish up his last year of college before he gets married in June.
