We are reaching the end of our time at our mission center in Papua New Guinea. It has been a good year. Ned has enjoyed teaching math and has been able to continue on with translation work. We have been blessed to have three kids at home for the school year. Zachary’s graduation is May 25th. Pray for Zachary as he attempts to finish well along with trying to experience all he can in PNG! Josiah and his wife, Mia, are coming to PNG for his graduation and to celebrate Josiah finishing college! We can’t wait!
Yesterday we received word that the airport here is going to be closed every Saturday and Sunday for the next 5 weeks which affects Josiah and Mia’s arrival and our departure. Please be praying that we can get flights changed and finish cleaning and packing our house here in the time we have remaining. It is feeling a bit daunting. Please pray that all the flights will go smoothly once they are rerouted! Papua New Guinea is known as “the Land of the Unexpected” and it is surely that!! It makes traveling very nerve wracking.
Please continue to pray for the Tigak church to be good examples and witnesses to the other Tigak people. Our heart is to see many more Tigak come to know the Lord. The church will be in the hands of the Tigak believers without any missionaries present for the coming year.
As we return to the USA we are going to need a car, truck or van for the year. If any of you have a vehicle for sale or know of one or even have an extra vehicle that might be available to borrow – we would love to hear from you. At this point we aren’t sure what type of vehicle we should even be looking for! We just know we don’t want a vehicle that is breaking down and being taken to the shop frequently so I would say our top requirement would just be reliable!
We will be in the USA June 2017 to June 2018. Ned will spend six months working full time on the Tigak translation and six months on Home Assignment visiting churches and supporters. Let us know if you want to schedule a time for us to share at your church or to have time to visit one-on-one. We would love to spend time with you! Thank you for the part each of you play in keeping us in PNG!
