We are back on our island after six long, very full weeks of translation checking with a few days of our annual regional missionary conference in the middle. It was an encouraging but exhausting time. Ned was blessed to not only have 2970 verses of the Tigak Bible checked, but to be the translation consultant checking 4255 verses of three other Bibles! What an exciting time to be a part of work going on around the Islands of Papua New Guinea. That made a total of 7225 new verses ready to put in the hands of tribal believers. When you consider that there are 7956 verses total in the New Testament you really realize that is a LOT of verses! To God be the glory!!!
We have a few weeks on the island for Ned to finish up the book of Genesis in Tigak (“tee-gahk”). He has 14 more chapters to complete the book. And he will, hopefully, be doing a translation check for our coworkers, Aimee and Lisa, who have worked on additional Old Testament portions in Tigak. What a joy to be able to provide the Tigak with Scriptures in their heart language. Pray that the Lord would use each verse to reach more people for Him!
Thank you for standing with us in prayer as we continue to be a part of reaching the Tigak people.
