We would appreciate your prayers this week as Ned attempts something that he has never done before. He is going to have a virtual translation check! It looks like there will not be any flights available for him to get to Papua New Guinea for the rest of this year. The only route to PNG currently is through Brisbane. Unfortunately, it is very limited to how many people are allowed to land at the Brisbane airport so only a limited number of people can get flights – mostly first class and business class passengers.
Paska will fly tomorrow to where the translation consultant is. The check will mostly happen over the weekend when they can make use of the internet at the center they will be working from. PNG is 15 hours ahead of Texas time so the check will be taking place the evenings and into the night (early morning) on Friday and Saturday. Please pray that the internet will cooperate to allow for the connection needed.
Ned will be reading a paragraph/section at a time to Paska in Tigak. Paska then will tell Jason, the translation consultant, what the section said using the trade language that both Paska and Jason know. Jason will ask questions to check the comprehension for each verse of Scripture. This check will cover the remaining chapters of the book of Genesis and the book of Ruth. We are super excited to have this opportunity to get these portions checked. It has been discouraging to see delay after delay so this is going to be a big step forward!
