Thank you for your faithful support and prayers. We wanted to let you know that Paska’s MRI in Australia was successful! He miraculously was able to lay still during the procedure. The doctor is making a plan for a future surgery but at this point we don’t know when it will happen or how all the logistics will come together. We are working with a children’s foundation in Australia but as you can imagine the expenses will be considerable. Please continue to pray that it would all come together. It is encouraging that the doctor has the medical data he needs and can make a plan now. Even though there are lots of unknowns at least a path is open.
The wife of our elder/pastor is now officially the “TB supervisor” for our island. She is in charge of getting people to the local hospital to be tested and to make sure they are faithful to keep up with 9 months of medication to eradicate the TB. This is a huge job. She is personally very vested in the battle against TB. Even though she does not have TB, it turns out that our elder is positive, along with both of their married daughters and some of their grandkids and aunts, uncles, etc. TB is rampant in the community. It is so hard to convince people that they need to continue the medications when the symptoms are gone. As you know, if you don’t complete a course of medication the disease will return even stronger. We would appreciate your prayers for Litia as she serves the community in this way and is hopefully able to make a dent in the epidemic.
Our coworker, Aimee, will be leaving the tribe permanently on October 2nd. It is very hard to see her leave but we know this is how the Lord is leading her. She has been a huge blessing to the work among the Tigak ladies and will be greatly missed. Please pray for the Lord to continue to guide her into whatever ministry He has prepared for her next. She has a huge heart for the Lord and the lost. She will be an asset wherever He places her!!
