prices plus special gifts from our supporters allowed this to happen. We are so thankful. It has been such a joy to be able to help out, especially with Bethany and Isaac living in Virginia and away from family. Valena Carmen Olson was born on October 6th. She weighed 8 lbs 3 oz, 20 ¼” long. She and Bethany are both doing great.

Continue to pray for rain for Papua New Guinea. We missionaries are surviving with less water but the nationals are having to work harder to get drinking and cooking water and to keep their gardens growing. It is a time of hunger in many areas. The Tigak are more dependent on fish so are less affected food-wise.

Papua New Guinea had an extra big Independence Day celebration this year since it was the 40th anniversary of their independence from Australia. Even on our little island there was a day of singing and dancing and games. It was a fun day!

The Tigak church has completed their study of Ephesians and begun studying Acts. Continue to pray for them to be faithful in studying God’s Word – especially the newer believers. Also, continue to remember them as they prepare for the upcoming church conference that they will be hosting, November 9 to 13. It will be challenging and stretching – but good for them as they sacrifice and give to serve the other churches who will be coming to our island. Linn is scheduled to arrive back on the island November 8th and our family will head out for another town on November 13th for translation checking – so it going to be a busy month for us.

<a rel="attachment wp-att-394"
