The translation consultant meetings were a profitable time for Ned. He really enjoys helping other translators and has his share of translating consultant work coming up in March and April so it is great to be prepared. Ned has sent his remaining 2 Gospels and 4 Epistles plus more of Genesis to two different consultants to check the remaining books. Now he is working on preparations for checking the work of three different translators in different language groups. It is such a blessing to be a part of reaching not only the Tigak but other PNG language groups!

Praise that little Paska and his dad, Hereman, now have passports! That in itself is a miracle. We were blessed by a family in the capital city that was willing to take this on. Getting something like this accomplished in a third world country takes many days and hours of work. The Lord is answering your prayers. It looks like funding through the PNG Health system is not going to happen. We are working on additional funding through an Australian Children’s foundation. PLEASE be praying that they would choose Paska as a recipient of one of their grants. There are lots more hurdles to jump even if this is approved but it would be a huge leap forward. If this grant does not come through – we will be considering various countries and funding options for Paska. There is a time crunch for how much time Paska has to get help so we greatly appreciate your prayers that all the details can come together.

Ned was able to visit with Paska and Hereman when he passed through the capital city last Saturday. They were super excited to see a familiar face after being away from their home village for 4 months and living in a hospital. It can’t be easy! The family who has helped them with their paperwork has also been taking them to church and for meals, etc. so that is a huge encouragement to them also.

Linn and our coworker, Aimee, will be hiking into a remote village on Saturday for a few days. There is a missionary couple there who is now in the tribe without their children (empty nest) and it has not been easy for them. We hope to be an encouragement to them. It will be about 2 ½ hours by boat and then 4 to 8 hours of hiking to get to their village. Hopefully 4 hrs – but we have heard stories about it taking up to 8 hours for some people! It will definitely be an adventure.

We are happy to have Ned back at home again.
