Naomi has been “training” for weeks and was so excited…but she got sick the night before and ended up walking and being carried through most of her race. But that didn’t curb her joy for her Gatorade and her trophy at the end.

It reminded us that we can have joy even when we feel weak and look to God to “carry” us. God has given us a task and a goal, but He also asks us to enjoy Him each moment. The past month, we’ve learned to rely more on God as we experience circumstances we can’t control (a broken car, an ever-changing daily routine, grumpy kids during late nights out). We keep learning to fix our eyes on Jesus because our relationship with Him is more important than our tasks. We don’t have to be the fastest “runners.” We can be the people who are carried by God, fully relying on Him.

It’s easy to think that we will be joyful at the end of our time of MPD, and excited to reach the “goal” of arriving at our ministry at the MTC. But watching Naomi race, it reminded us that we have the privilege of walking with Jesus Christ (or being carried!) every day, in every situation. We are still praying faithfully to arrive at the MTC in January. But we are also asking God to carry us to that goal and show us how to walk joyfully with Him in every circumstance. We will be transitioning from spending almost every week at our sending church to visiting different churches weekly as we share about our ministry. We’re excited about the busy season ahead of us but know that we MUST keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.

You lead me in the path of life; I experience absolute joy in Your presence
Psalm 16:11, NET

What we are JOYFUL about during MPD:

Lots of family time!

Connecting with so many amazing believers

Sharing often about missions, which keeps us in prayer about God’s work around the world

Truly learning to depend on God

Please pray for:

Eyes fixed on Jesus and His JOY

Full support for our ministry by January

Taking every opportunity God provides to share the Gospel in our community

Find us on a Sunday at…

Oct 6

Streamsong Church

Oct 13

Palisades Community Bible Church

Oct 20

Ridgeline Community Church

Oct 27

Exeter Bible Fellowship Church

Let us know if you want to connect with us and learn more about joining our ministry partnership team!

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him.
