As<br \/>\nNoe puts it so well, it&#8217;s like we were &#8220;dating&#8221; each other.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\">Last week, we all decided not to partner<br \/>\ntogether&#8211; but we are SO happy to report that it is NOT for any negative<br \/>\nreason! The reason we are not partnering together is that those two families are<br \/>\ngoing to go in together with the hope\/plan of having a family from a<br \/>\nneighboring tribal church join them in the work. This is \u2018purposeful<br \/>\npartnership.&#8217; How amazing is this?!<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\">**Really, folks, this is a wonderful picture of<br \/>\nwhat it really means&nbsp;<b><i>to make disciples<\/i><\/b>. Be encouraged.<br \/>\n&#8220;Training nationals to do the job&#8221; is SO much more than &#8216;here is the<br \/>\nGospel, here is the Bible, go for it!&#8217; It involves years and years, countless<br \/>\nhours of intentional discipleship. In this neighboring tribal church, the missionaries<br \/>\n(who happen to be here as some of our advisors at this time!) spent years:<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: .5in;text-indent: -.25in\">\n<!--[if !supportLists]--><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\"><span>1.<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span><!--[endif]--><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\">Learning the tribal<br \/>\nlanguage AND culture (this includes understand the depths of the animistic<br \/>\nbelief system\/worldview of the people they were going to share God&#8217;s Word with)<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: .5in;text-indent: -.25in\">\n<!--[if !supportLists]--><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\"><span>2.<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span><!--[endif]--><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\">Preparing Bible lessons<br \/>\nthat are accurate to the original meaning, but relevant to the culture<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: .5in;text-indent: -.25in\">\n<!--[if !supportLists]--><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\"><span>3.<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span><!--[endif]--><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\">Preparing a literacy<br \/>\nprogram so the people could learn to read and write in their own language- with<br \/>\nthe end goal that they can read the Bible in their own language. Also,<br \/>\ndiscipleship will be immensely difficult without this.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: .5in;text-indent: -.25in\">\n<!--[if !supportLists]--><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\"><span>4.<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span><!--[endif]--><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\">Beginning to translate the<br \/>\nBible into the tribal language- again, understanding the culture so that the<br \/>\ntranslation will be accurate in meaning, and relevant in form. Unfortunately,<br \/>\nmany translations have been set aside because the culture and worldview was not<br \/>\nunderstood by the translators. Additionally, some translations are quickly<br \/>\ncompleted, but there are no solid Bible teachers to teach it, and\/or no<br \/>\nbelievers to hand it to. <\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: .5in;text-indent: -.25in\">\n<!--[if !supportLists]--><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\"><span>5.<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span><!--[endif]--><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\">Teaching through the Bible<br \/>\nfor the FIRST time in the tribal language! And being available to dialogue each<br \/>\nday and answer questions. (The questions will stem from their worldview, so if<br \/>\nyou haven&#8217;t learned that, you&#8217;ll have great difficulty answering these questions!)<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: .5in;text-indent: -.25in\">\n<!--[if !supportLists]--><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\"><span>6.<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span><!--[endif]--><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\">Discipling- walking with<br \/>\nnew believers and helping them grow in their understanding of God and His Word!<br \/>\n&#8220;Therefore go and make converts of all nations&#8230;&#8221; No! haha \ud83d\ude42<br \/>\n&#8220;Therefore go and make DISCIPLES of all nations&#8230;&#8221; (!) This<br \/>\ndiscipleship includes working together to reach neighboring tribes and<br \/>\nlanguages. The end goal is that they will be well equipped to continue this<br \/>\nwork on their own.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: .5in;text-indent: -.25in\">\n<span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\" class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center\">\n<i><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\">What a privilege to be a part of this amazing work! To be a part<br \/>\nof His mission, to be a part of &#8216;updating relationship status&#8217;:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\"><\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\" class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center\">\n<b><i><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\">Darkness &#8230; to Light<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\"><\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\" class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center\">\n<b><i><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\">Stranger &#8230; to Citizen<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\"><\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\" class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center\">\n<b><i><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\">Lost &#8230; to Found<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\"><\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\" class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center\">\n<b><i><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\">Not a People &#8230; to a People<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\"><\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\" class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center\">\n<b><i><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\">(etc!!)<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\"><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\">So as we look at these two families, these<br \/>\nfriends of ours, we are filled with joy that they will hopefully have the<br \/>\nopportunity to have a believing tribal family come and join with them, as<br \/>\nco-laborers for the cross of Christ. Tribal believers who have been discipled<br \/>\nby missionaries who considered it worth their while to be in it for the long<br \/>\nhaul. THIS is &#8220;training nationals to do the job&#8221;. Speaking of<br \/>\nwhich&#8230; this tribal church has now shared the Word of God with almost ALL of<br \/>\nthe villages in the tribe! And now, as you can see, they are preparing to<br \/>\npartner with western missionaries to go into some of these harder-to-reach<br \/>\nplaces. As the tribal church continues to grow in maturity and tools, they will<br \/>\nbe able to go to some of these places on their own.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\">So yes, we did have a bit of an emotional week<br \/>\nas we &#8220;broke up&#8221; with these two families. But again, it is for happy<br \/>\nreasons. We had plenty of reasons to partner together, we all are of one mind<br \/>\nand vision in regard to church planting. We are both out of Basic<br \/>\nlevel and into the Progressing level. The next level is Capable, and we are<br \/>\ncontinuing to work hard to learn this language and culture (remember, the two<br \/>\ncannot be separated if you expect to translate, teach, and disciple with<br \/>\naccuracy, relevance, and understanding).<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\">The girls also had a little language check, and<br \/>\nthey both passed, being able to answer all of the questions presented to them!<br \/>\nWay to go, munchkins! \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\">We have about 6 weeks remaining here in Madang.<br \/>\nPray for us to be diligent in our studies, and ever loving toward one another. \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<span style=\"color: black;font-family: Times;font-size: 13.5pt\"><b>On a Funny Note&#8230;<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<span style=\"font-size: medium\">When to NOT combine English and Tok Pisin: If you are trying to say &#8220;I&#8217;ll take a little!&#8221;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<span style=\"font-size: medium\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center\">\n<span style=\"font-size: medium\">&#8220;I&#8217;ll take a little lik (leak)!&#8221; &nbsp;&#8230;.
