From February through to the end of July we had a very busy schedule of meetings, workshops, seminars and conferences in several countries in west and southeast Africa. We also spent about seven weeks in Gogo with the Loron believers, so it is really good to be back home for a while to see family and friends.
Trip to North America – We have been invited to speak at a couple of missionary conferences in the USA and Canada in September. We also plan to visit some friends and churches. We would appreciate your prayers as we prepare for the trip and as we travel.
Bible Translation – Please continue to pray for the Loron believers (Donald, Samuel and Jeremy) as they move forward with translating the book of Matthew into their own language. I worked with them through some difficult passages of Matthew’s Gospel during the time we spent in the village from March to May, and it was so encouraging to be able to help them make some important improvements to the draft. There are still more checks to be made before a final check, hopefully at the end of the year.
Literacy – Marina is encouraged with the slow but steady progress in the various literacy classes in different Loron villages and churches. She was also heartened with the advances made in the preparations for literacy campaigns by three missionary teams in Mozambique. New computer software developed by NTM’s tech department proved to be a huge help in producing high quality reading and teaching materials for the three teams.
Loron church – Please pray for the Loron church leaders and Bible teachers, especially Joel, Moise, Daniel, Jeremy and Donald, as they bring the Gospel to new areas and as they lead and feed the believers.
Thank you for your prayers!
