Marina has just returned to Ivory Coast from Mozambique. She went there for a couple of weeks to help the missionaries working among the Yao people launch their new literacy course. From all accounts, it went very well. There is a lot of interest among the Yao in learning how to read and write their own language, and numerous Yao community leaders attended the opening ceremony.
The literacy course had been well developed by the missionary team, and with just a few tweaks here and there in the materials, they are now making good progress in teaching a group of twelve enthusiastic students.
Literacy, of course, is an essential part of seeing a growing and maturing church established among unreached people groups.
Please be praying for Anthony and Jennie Chee as they continue to work among the Yao people.
Please also be praying for Marina and me as we return to northern Ivory Coast to resume work among the Loron people.
