\u201cOh!\u00a0 I thought you headed back already?!\u201d\u00a0 That\u2019s usually the reaction we get as we bump into folks here in Maryland.\u00a0 Many of you are aware that we were planning on heading back to Papua New Guinea over a month ago.\u00a0 Well plans change and it has been a lesson in patience for both of us as we have \u201csat back\u201d and seen the Lord work.<\/p>\n

Many of you are aware of Paul\u2019s on-going medical problems \u2014 increased asthma and itchy\/red skin.\u00a0 While we have seen a tremendous decrease of these symptoms, it wasn\u2019t until recently that we started getting some answers to our questions.<\/p>\n

The Lord worked it out for us to see a very knowledgeable allergist here in the Washington DC area.\u00a0 She was able to see us right away and began\u00a0 to help us understand what is going on in Paul\u2019s body.<\/p>\n

Within these weeks of waiting, here are just a few things that have happened:<\/p>\n

~~ Paul\u2019s asthma is basically under control.\u00a0 (He went from using his in hailer many times a day to basically not using it at all).<\/p>\n

~~ Samples…samples and more samples.\u00a0 The generosity of our doctor has saved us thousands!<\/p>\n

~~ Having a Christian doctor who understands our urgency for answers & has been willing to go out of her way to help!<\/p>\n

~~ Paul was approved for a new medical program which is a type of\u00a0 \u201callergy shot\u201d that is specific for his overactive cells (IgE).\u00a0 He has started getting shots here and it is looking like he will be able to continue receiving the injections once we are in PNG.<\/p>\n

What does all this mean?\u00a0 We are now in a position to be able to return to the field.\u00a0 We have purchased tickets and will be heading that direction early in October!<\/p>\n

Adjustments Ahead<\/strong><\/p>\n

As we continue on with melding our lives together we still have many adjustments ahead of us.\u00a0 After a few days of getting settled in our apartment on center we will return to our ministries.\u00a0 Paul will return to his position as aircraft mechanic in the hanger while Andrea will most likely be working with the administration team again.<\/p>\n

We also can\u2019t wait to reconnect with our friends there.\u00a0 Please pray for wisdom as we learn to balance married, ministry and our social lives.<\/p>\n

Praises:<\/h4>\n

~~ Getting answers to Paul\u2019s allergy problems.<\/p>\n

~~ We are heading back to PNG!<\/p>\n

~~ A \u201cdelayed\u201d return that has allowed us to spend more time with friends, family and football (American football!!)<\/p>\n

Prayer Requests:<\/strong><\/p>\n

~~ Safety in our travels around the world.<\/p>\n

~~ Good adjustments as we fit back into life in PNG.<\/p>\n

~~ Paul\u2019s response to these new medicines.<\/p>\n

~~ Wisdom in time management.<\/p>\n
