In just over a month (it makes me want to scream just typing that) we will be leaving Papua New Guinea and heading back to the US for our year of home assignment.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

After praying and talking with our leadership, it became clear that a slightly early home assignment was necessary.\u00a0 We originally decided to go earlier in order to stager the home assignment times of our mechanics.\u00a0 But it also became clearer that Paul needed a break from the stress and work load of the hangar.\u00a0 His on-going allergy problems have not helped but we are thankful to report that we are now able to get his expensive allergy medicine up from Australia.\u00a0 We are so glad that the supply lines are now open!!!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

What are our plans for 2017?<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 <\/i><\/b>After spending Christmas with Paul\u2019s family in Kansas, we will make our way to Maryland.\u00a0 Let the doctor appointments begin!\u00a0 Pediatricians, dentist, eye-doctors, allergist\u2026we are going to be busy.\u00a0 We are looking forward to seeing many of you as we have several road trips planned as well.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

What can you be praying about?\u00a0 <\/i><\/b><\/span>Thanks for joining with us in praying about these things:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • We have a lot to do in the next month\u2026.packing up our house and cleaning it for the next renters.<\/li>\n
  • Paul is still pretty busy in the hangar. In between Kodiak inspections they are working on getting our helicopter back in service.<\/li>\n
  • Physical adjustments ahead\u2026..going from perpetual tropical weather to winter. Our kids will go from wearing Crocs, shorts and playing outside every day to wearing boots, pants and vitamin D with\"dsc08392cs\"drawal.<\/li>\n
  • Emotional adjustments\u2026.PNG is home to us all and we each will be dealing with culture shock as we are emerged back into our American culture.<\/li>\n
  • Financial needs. We are amazed at how the Lord provided for our tickets home (Just under $6,000).\u00a0 We now are trusting Him for all that is needed in setting up life back in the States for the next year.\u00a0 We are so thankful for Paul\u2019s parents providing us a vehicle as it will help us save money for all the many other expenses.<\/li>\n
  • For us as a family. Pray for wisdom and strength as we help our kids during this transition.\u00a0 Pray that we will also have times of rest and refreshment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Dom Dedication<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

    \"dom-dedication-group-pic-2016\"No NIV.\u00a0 No KJV.\u00a0 No NASB.\u00a0 No NLT.\u00a0 No ESV.\u00a0 Imagine if you didn\u2019t have access to the living Word of God in your own language!\u00a0 Hard to imagine since not only do we have the Bible but most of us have it in many translations and in many forms.<\/p>\n

    The Dom people here in the highlands of Papua New Guinea just received the printed New Testament.\u00a0 And like the latest iPhone, the Dom lined up to make sure they got there\u2019s.<\/p>\n

    These Bibles represent years of hard work for our NTM missionaries.\u00a0 But the work is not over.\u00a0 Please pray for the Burdetts and Wuests as they disciple and lead the church there in Dom.\u00a0 Pray that the people will not only spend time reading their New Testaments but that they will apply it to their lives.<\/p>\n

    • Praise: Our plane tickets have been purchased and paid off!<\/li>\n
    • Praise: Paul is able to once again go on his expensive but very effective allergy shots.<\/li>\n
    • Praise: We have two new mechanic families almost through language and orientation.<\/li>\n
    • Prayer: <\/b>Our up and coming home assignment time.<\/li>\n
    • Prayer: <\/b>For the Dom church<\/li>\n
    • Prayer: <\/b>Wisdom and discernment as we parent our kids through this transition and home assignment. (BONUS! Reverse culture shock included for free.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
