\"\"Just a few weeks ago new chronological Bible teaching started among the Kaje people <\/b><\/span>here in Papua New Guinea.\u00a0 After spending many years learning their language and culture, the missionaries (3 families:\u00a0 the Goheens, Myers and Meyers) are finally able to share God\u2019s Word with them in their own language.\u00a0 How are they responding?\u00a0 (So glad you asked):<\/p>\n

Martin \u2013 \u201cWe are such sinners.\u00a0 It is like we have been storing up fire wood for ourselves for the day of judgement.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

Nelson \u2013 \u201cShould I try to find a lamb and sacrifice it to God like Abel?\u00a0I want him to be happy with me.”\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

Ananias\u00a0\u2013 \u201cGod saved Noah all the way.\u00a0 I cannot wait until I hear how God is going to save me all the way.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

Jino \u2013 \u201cEvery time you guys end the lesson I think, \u2018No! Where did the time go!\u00a0 Teach more! It ended to quickly!\u2019\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

Caspar\u00a0\u2013 \u201cSatan has truly tricked us with his lying talk and hid God\u2019s true talk from us. \u00a0But now we are hearing it clearly!\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

Please join us in praying for these dear Kaje folks as they continue on.\u00a0 It is amazing to hear how their hearts are being turned and soften in preparation for Jesus!<\/p>\n

\"\"We are also excited that the Koval people <\/b><\/span>are one step closer to hearing God\u2019s Word in their own language.\u00a0 We have a missionary team ready and they have been busy slabbing trees in preparation for their houses in the bush.\u00a0 And late last month our aviation department was able to get a bunch of helicopter sling loads in of building supplies and such. Let the building begin!<\/p>\n

Pray as the missionaries build relationships with the Koval people as they house build, move in and begin formal language and culture study\u2026.all with the goal of one day hearing them say, \u201cBut now we are hearing clearly!\u201d<\/p>\n

PNG\u2019s Independence Day!<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

To help celebrate PNG\u2019s Independence day, we hold a carnival-type event and welcome our local national friends.\u00a0 We do this in partnership with them and it really is a busy but great day!<\/p>\n

\"\"Did you know that our mission center had a train?\u00a0 Well, actually it is a home-made train of barrels pulled by a 4-wheeler.\u00a0 And since we find ourselves the babysitter of said 4-wheeler, we enjoyed giving rides to the national kids around our center.\u00a0 Not even a kidney stone would keep this from happening!<\/p>\n

For most of the day we loaded and drove kids and they had a blast.\u00a0 Sadly we ran out of time and not every child got a turn.<\/p>\n

This reminded me of the words of the owner of the 4-wheeler.\u00a0 Matt Dooley went back to the States in April for some medical tests and was \"\"diagnosed with cancer.\u00a0 He lost his battle and gained his heavenly reward just days before this year\u2019s celebration.\u00a0 Last year, he posted this:<\/p>\n

\u201cFor many of these children this is the closest thing they (have) to an amusement park ride they will ever see\u2026.I was sad at the end of the day that I had to tell many children that we had to end the train rides.\u00a0 They had been waiting patiently for their turn and now time was up…This is like our work here in PNG bringing the gospel to the people.\u00a0 The more they hear about it the more they want to join in.\u00a0 Yet there are not enough workers to meet the needs of the crowd and time will run out for many in the crowd.\u201d\u00a0 <\/i><\/p>\n

Please join us in praying for more workers for His harvest (Matthew 9:37-38).<\/p>\n

  • Praise: <\/b><\/span>Thanks for praying for the kids as they adjust to our mission\u2019s school.\u00a0 For the most part, they have enjoyed it and love their classes and teachers, but not the homework.\u00a0 (They really have wonderful teachers!)<\/li>\n
  • Praise: <\/b><\/span>A great time celebrating PNG\u2019s 44th day of independence!<\/li>\n
  • Praise: <\/b><\/span>Another 3-month supply of Paul\u2019s meds is being hand-carried from the States.<\/li>\n
  • Prayer: <\/b><\/span><\/b>For the Kaje people as they hear God\u2019s Word.\u00a0 Pray for the missionaries as they work hard to communicate clearly.<\/li>\n
  • Prayer: <\/b><\/span>For the Koval team as they house build, move in and begin language & culture study.<\/li>\n
  • Prayer: <\/b><\/span>For a much needed updating of our community water system. (More later.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
