(2019)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cToto, I have a feeling we are not in Kansas anymore.\u201d\u00a0 When we last wrote to you (in July!) we were sharing about Paul\u2019s quick trip to Kansas for his (step) Dad\u2019s funeral and a few weeks visit with his mom, Lavon Blackburn.\u00a0 She has been in ailing health these last years and we just weren\u2019t sure how she would do now being alone, bed-bound in the nursing home.\u00a0 (Their 20th anniversary was in May of this year.)\u00a0 Family still continued to faithfully visit but her decline continued.\u00a0 Sadly, but also very happily, we got word that she passed away early on Sunday morning, Oct 20th.\u00a0 She is now pain free for the first time in years!\u00a0 We really are rejoicing as we mourn her loss.\u00a0 We have decided to not return to the States right now but will honor her wishes and have her ashes spread in a small family gathering at a later date in the Rocky Mountains.\u00a0 We thank the Lord for your prayers for her over the years.\u00a0 Living with chronic pain really took its toll.\u00a0 We are so thankful for the promise of a pain-free Heaven!<\/p>\n<p>What else has happened since we last wrote?\u00a0 Paul has been super busy in the hangar.\u00a0 Since we are severely short-staffed in mechanics, the work sometimes feels never-ending.\u00a0 Early this month, for example, all three of our Kodiak airplanes were down for maintenance\u2026 at the same time!\u00a0 Since so many of our bush missionaries rely on the Kodiaks (and our 2 helicopters as well)to get their supplies and themselves in\/out of their locations, Paul is thankful for the team that works together to safely return planes to service.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_947\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-947\" style=\"width: 225px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-947\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/paul-wilson\/files\/2024\/10\/20240919_110234s-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/paul-wilson\/files\/2024\/10\/20240919_110234s-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/paul-wilson\/files\/2024\/10\/20240919_110234s-600x800.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/paul-wilson\/files\/2024\/10\/20240919_110234s-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/paul-wilson\/files\/2024\/10\/20240919_110234s-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/paul-wilson\/files\/2024\/10\/20240919_110234s-1536x2048.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/paul-wilson\/files\/2024\/10\/20240919_110234s-83x110.jpg 83w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/paul-wilson\/files\/2024\/10\/20240919_110234s-188x250.jpg 188w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/paul-wilson\/files\/2024\/10\/20240919_110234s-190x253.jpg 190w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/paul-wilson\/files\/2024\/10\/20240919_110234s-scaled.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-947\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Phoebe enjoying Life Science. Can you guess what we\u2019re studying?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Andrea and the kids have been busy at school!\u00a0 Phoebe and Josh have returned to our mission school, Numonohi Christian Academy (NCA), located here on the same center where we live.\u00a0 NCA\u2019s goal is to support tribal church planting by meeting the educational needs of Ethnos360 missionary children.\u00a0\u00a0 Several other mission organizations send their children to our school as well(ex:\u00a0 MAF).\u00a0 While Phoebe (grade 7) and Josh (grade 5) adjust to no longer being homeschooled, Andrea (grade\u2026 err\u2026 lots more) is adjusting to teaching again.\u00a0 This year she is teaching a 7th\/8th grade life science class.\u00a0 What an amazing place to teach at!\u00a0 Like most of our departments, NCA is very short staffed.\u00a0 If you are interested in teaching overseas in a Christian school with some amazing teachers and some amazing students, let me know!<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\">Praise<\/span> <\/b><b>&amp; <\/b><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>Prayer<\/b><\/span> <b>Requests<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><b>Praise: <\/b><\/span>Lavon, Paul\u2019s mom, is pain-free in Heaven!<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><b>Praise:<\/b> <\/span>\u00a0We enjoyed a short family break, called holiday on this side of the world.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><b>Praise:<\/b><\/span> Term 1 of school completed and we all survived!<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><b>Praise:<\/b> <\/span>That God\u2019s Word and Gospel message continues to go out into new people groups and languages.\u00a0 Maturing churches are being established for God\u2019s glory.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>Prayer:<\/b> <\/span>\u00a0For us as we mourn Paul\u2019s mom\u2019s passing.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>Prayer:\u00a0<\/b><\/span>For more laborers. The harvest is truly ripe and more help is needed in all departments.
