It\u2019s amazing what five-and-a-half hours of
\nsleep can do for you! <\/span><\/b>J<\/span><\/b>  Our trip to St Louis and back yesterday was an
\n\u201cendurance trip\u201d.  I started out NOT feeling good and held my \u201crunning conversation\u201d
\nwith God out loud a good portion of the time! — poor Paul! <\/span><\/b>J<\/span><\/b>.  We spent about
\na half hour with Dr. Riew and four visiting specialists from around the world
\nand how we praise the Lord for this VERY qualified man!  After studying
\nthe MRI, taken a couple of days prior to my appointment and the six x-rays
\ntaken that day, we are satisfied with the outcome.  The bottom line, after
\nanswering many questions and pulling and pushing, pricking and scratching here
\nand there he said \u201c\u2026.how would you prefer living the rest of your life? 
\nWith the pain and discomfort, etc., that you are experiencing right now — or
\nwith your neck fused and being unable to turn and bend it?\u201d  Well — that
\nwas a \u201cno brainer\u201d for me! My immediate response was — \u201cSTIFF NECKED!\u201d <\/span><\/b>J<\/span><\/b>  I lived that way
\nfor almost a year after my last neck surgery — as I wore a “major”
\nneck brace for close to a year.  I’m willing to live that way — if
\nthat is what it takes to get rid of this pain.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

<\/font><\/p>\n

And
\nso — on July 21st<\/sup>, we will return to St. Louis for a CT scan of
\nthe neck and another Dr\u2019s appointment.  That means, I have 15 days until
\nwe will likely find out the when, who and what of this surgery.  He says
\nthat the last two vertebrae need to be fused as I have not \u201cself-fused\u201d as
\nhoped\/expected since surgery two years ago.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The
\nstraw that\u201dbroke this camel\u2019s back\u201d (pun intended<\/span><\/b>J<\/span><\/b>) yesterday, was that I
\nlost my cell phone sometime in the morning — after leaving for St. Louis! <\/span><\/b>L<\/span><\/b>  I think I wept
\nmore over that silly phone than I did about the surgery!!!  How silly we
\nare, aren\u2019t we?!  I\u2019m just so \u201csad\u201d that I\u2019ve lost so many of my contact
\nnumbers —- and I certainly don\u2019t want to spend the money on a new
\nphone!  We searched — made multiple stops retracing our steps on our way
\nhome — I pled with my Heavenly Father and he said \u201cno\u201d — and so I\u2019m praying
\nthat whoever took it will be \u201csmitten\u201d with guilt and be MISERABLE until they
\nreturn it<\/span><\/b>J<\/span><\/b>.
\n And, of course, my God\u2019s grace is sufficient for this also! <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Thank
\nyou for praying for us yesterday!!!  I know it\u2019s the only way we made it
\nthrough the day.  God is good — ALL the time!  And each one of you is a <\/span>precious reminder <\/span>of
\nHis love and goodness!  We bow humbly before our God as we read SO many
\n\u201clove notes\u201d from you, telling us of your prayers and loving, sweet words of
\nencouragement.  I ended my day talking with my precious sister
\n(Kathleen Rasmussen) around midnight — and as always — she was a huge
\nencouragement to me!  We <\/span>encouraged each
\nother “remembering the goodness and grace of our Lord”!<\/span>  How can we help but PRAISE the Lord?! 
\nWe are surrounded with seven of the sweetest grandchildren in the world who
\nlove the Lord and desire to walk with Him!  Plus our \u201ckids\u201d, Todd, Chelle,
\nStarr and Matt are absolute treasures!  What a joy it is to have them
\nclose by during this difficult time<\/span><\/b>J<\/span><\/b>!<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n
