For the first time at WCC, the men hosted the monthly potluck in honor of the mothers. They did all of the cooking, set up, serving, and clean up! They did a great job.
And they also got a sweet goodbye cake for Payton and I!
And then there was the beautiful Ladies Tea hosted by the women of WCC. Over 40 women came and heard words of encouragement from several speakers. All of the tea brewing that my sisters and I did reminded me of my days as a Tea Hostess at Glen Eyrie!
Payton and I finished up our seasons of hockey and futsol, both making it to the championship games only to be viciously beaten. 🙂 Well, they won, fair and square, but I just really wanted a victors t-shirt.
And then we packed up all of our stuff…and then we cleaned and cleaned some more. Payton’s brother came into town early, and we immediately forced him into manual labor, hauling boxes up and down the stairs. Payton’s parents came into town a day or two later and we made them scrub out our oven and all of the dirtiest corners we could find…well, it wasn’t quite like that, but they did do an amazing job helping us pass our apartment inspection. I couldn’t have done it without them!
Oh yeah, and we GRADUATED!!! Congrats to my hubby who got a 3.93 GPA, and he read over 40 books even though he doesn’t like to read! (I had to read those books too, I just didn’t have to work as hard–probably because I was a book nerd growing up). On a side note, at one point in time we had books by Kitchen, Showers and Couch on our table. 🙂
It was so much fun to have family in town, even though our apartment was torn up with all of the packing. We did get in a few games of Ticket to Ride though!
Monday morning we packed up the car and headed to Colorado via Missouri! The car was so packed that my aloe plant was between Payton’s feet and I had the cooler under my feet! We didn’t hit any armadillos outside of Roach this time, but I did almost hit a crane thing, which was headed straight for the bike on the top of the car–that would have been disastrous. We listened to multiple sermons from the t4g conference from earlier this year. Oh, and we didn’t run out of gas this time.
