Falling Asleep While Reading

March 7, 2012 by Payton and Grace Downing

Well, that’s what I was doing when I decided it was time to update the blog, falling asleep that is. Our Revelation textbook just couldn’t keep my brain connected after a night of not-so-good sleep and a very busy day. I attribute the lack of sleep to my late game of futsol and the adrenaline rush that usually happens somewhere in between.

I finished the hoodie I was making. It no longer looks like a potato sack. It now looks like a potato sack with a pocket and a hood.

I also attempted to make a $30 Chiropractor pillow from scratch. I used my mom’s as a pattern. It’s a little lumpy, even with all that fuzz inside. It is nice because it has that little indent for your head.

And then there was Ping Pong. It was a tournament to raise money for some former students who are further along in the training and are looking to build their house in Papua New Guinea sometime soon.

Our short weekend to Chicago with our friends the Cizdziel’s (check out their blog here) was so much fun! We got to see the Punch Brothers in concert. Chris Thile from the former Nickel Creek is their lead singer. He plays the mandolin like there’s no tomorrow and the rest of the guys (and Aoife O’Donovan) were incredible too! So much skill on one stage.

Our last hour in the windy city with bellies full of soup and Chic-Fil-A—and no time left on the parking meter.

And that same weekend was the potluck at church. I sat with Vince, Joan, and Ron and got to hear some stories about days gone by. It was a good end to the weekend!
