{"id":357,"date":"2010-01-22T19:02:07","date_gmt":"2010-01-22T23:02:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/pete-humphreys\/?p=357"},"modified":"2010-01-22T19:02:07","modified_gmt":"2010-01-22T23:02:07","slug":"recovering-from-surgery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/pete-humphreys\/2010\/01\/22\/recovering-from-surgery\/","title":{"rendered":"Recovering from Surgery!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span style=\"font-family: Comic Sans MS\">Thank you for keeping us in prayer these days as  we&#8217;ve been anticipating Peter&#8217;s shoulder surgery &#8211; now the wait is over! <\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Comic Sans MS\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Comic Sans MS\">The surgery took place yesterday at 1:30 p.m.,  and I was able to bring him home by about 9 p.m. last night. Peter was in  surgery for about 3-1\/2 hours.\u00a0This was quite a bit longer\u00a0than the surgeon  had\u00a0anticipated; he said he found &#8216;other work&#8217; to do while he was in there. We  should find out all about that when\u00a0he goes\u00a0in for a check-up in six weeks  (meanwhile, he&#8217;ll be seeing\u00a0a physiotherapist and also our family  doctor).<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Comic Sans MS\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Comic Sans MS\">After a pretty good night of rest,\u00a0Peter woke up  with such a sore throat that he could hardly eat or drink. We phoned the  surgeon&#8217;s office, and they recommended a visit to the ER.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Comic Sans MS\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Comic Sans MS\">We are just back from there, and have  antibiotics on board now for the infection. Evidently there was some trauma from  the tube down his throat during surgery, causing damage to his throat and  uvula.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Comic Sans MS\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Comic Sans MS;color: #008000\">Thank you for praying for Peter  during this time of rest and special care of his shoulder (don&#8217;t lift! don&#8217;t  pull! don&#8217;t work!)<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Comic Sans MS;color: #008000\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Comic Sans MS\">We appreciate you all! We want to let you know  that God is answering prayer, and has brought several new\u00a0supporters onto the  team! This is a great encouragement to us.
