Waters are near the top of the sea wall - the next day the street was flooded!\" width=\"269\" height=\"202\" \/><\/a><!--EndImportPhoto--><\/p>\n<p>Tropical Storm Fay left lots of rain and water all over the streets in parts of Sanford and surrounding cities.\u00a0 We personally had no damage at our home and the water has stayed at bay for which we are very thankful.<\/p>\n<p>The street behind our mission, however, is under water.\u00a0 Lake <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-145\" src=\"..\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/96\/files\/tropical-storms-and-hurricanes-aug\/sept,-2008\/560_43708.jpg\" alt=\"lakeside view of water-covered street behind the mission building\" width=\"202\" height=\"151\" \/>Monroe, which is part of the St. John&#8217;s River, has overflowed its banks and the road has been closed.\u00a0 We are told that this weekend the river should rise more.\u00a0 Many people&#8217;s homes are flooded.\u00a0 Several days we had to find alternate routes to work as many of the streets between our home and the mission were flooded.\u00a0 Her first week back at school Haley was overjoyed to have 3 days off because of the storm!!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<!--more--> <!--StartImportThumbnail--><!--EndImportThumbnail--><\/p>\n<p>Now, we hear that another storm is brewing out there, Hannah, and will probably turn into a hurricane that could hit Florida.\u00a0 Please pray with us that this storm turns and does no more damage as many folks have not recovered from the last storm. (For more pictures of the storms, check out our photo section).<\/p>\n<p>Other than the storms, we are doing fine.\u00a0 <strong>Heather <\/strong>is back from her month of training in Alabama and Mississippi and has started her college classes again.\u00a0 <strong>Cody <\/strong>has gone back to Bible School in Wisconsin.\u00a0 He is still working at McDonalds but praying that he can find a job that would pay better and have better hours.\u00a0 <strong>Haley <\/strong>is not excited to be back in school (she is a sophomore).\u00a0 She has some hard classes this year but she always does well with her grades.<\/p>\n<p>I (<strong>Jackie<\/strong>) am still teaching 4th grade math and pre-algebra for our mission school and working in the Field Ministries Office.\u00a0 I am looking for a part-time job to help with expenses but am finding that jobs are difficult to find these days.\u00a0 <strong>Phil <\/strong>is staying busy in the carpenter shop in the mission.\u00a0 He has built some new doors for the mission chapel and helping renovate a staff home for the mission.<\/p>\n<p>NEWS FROM BOLIVIA:\u00a0 Missionaries with the ESE EJJA <!--StartImportThumbnail--><a rel=\"thumbnail\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/phil-burns\/files\/2008\/08\/560_43720.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-104\" style=\"float:left;margin-right:5px;border: 0.5pt solid #BCC4C8\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/phil-burns\/files\/2008\/08\/560_43720.jpg\" alt=\"ese ejja conference\" width=\"150\" \/><\/a><!--EndImportThumbnail--> and SIMBA tribes are both preparing for Bible\u00a0 Conferences to be held with tribal people from their groups.\u00a0 The Riepmas are praying to have 30 Ese Ejja families from five villages attend the conference.
