I (Jackie) am only teaching one math class in our mission school this year instead of two classes. I am teaching Pre-Algebra again to 7th and 8th grade. Our school is small with only about 50 students so I only have 3 in my class this year. It is really nice to have such a small class, though, as I can spend more time with each student. It is hard to believe that we have already been in class for over a month! Phil has kept busy remodeling the maintenance office and is finishing up on remodeling an apartment for a single lady who will be here soon.

I, also, continue to work in the Field Ministries Office doing secretarial work when I’m not at the school. This past week and a half there were Bible Translators and Translation Consultants from many of our fields here for a Translation Seminar on the Epistles. I wasn’t directly involved with the seminar but did a few things to keep the office going while the others were in the seminar.

Awana, at our church, has also started again so that keeps us busy Sunday afternoons and evenings. We had a large group this evening and it is so encouraging to see these young kids faithfully learning their Scripture verses and singing praise songs! Two of these kids have recently joined the church and I have helped instruct them about baptism. It will be exciting to see them get baptized in a couple of weeks.

Phil and I are excited to say that we will be flying out to Colorado to visit Jason and his family the end of October. Someone who wishes to remain anonymous has offered to give us their extra air miles so that we can fly out to see our grandson. I have only seen Jaxon once (when he was 6 months old) and Phil has only seen him in pictures so it will be a special treat for him. In December Jaxon will be two. We wanted to pick a time when it would be cool (a nice change from the Florida weather) but not too cold -as us Floridians don’t last long in cold weather!! Needless to say, we are amazed at the thoughtfulness and love of other folks and so thankful that the Lord is allowing us to do this. We feel really blessed!

Prayer Requests:

Pray for wisdom for Cody as he tries to decide the best way to go about getting his pilot training and the right timing, getting the money, etc.

Our trip to Colorado – that we could be a blessing and not just be “in the way”.

Heather’s studies at UCF –
