{"id":824,"date":"2010-10-25T14:04:20","date_gmt":"2010-10-25T18:04:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/phil-burns\/?p=824"},"modified":"2010-10-25T14:08:13","modified_gmt":"2010-10-25T18:08:13","slug":"824","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/phil-burns\/2010\/10\/25\/824\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sept.\/Oct., 2010<\/p>\n<p>Dear Friends,<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-825 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/phil-burns\/files\/2010\/10\/image003.jpg\" alt=\"image003\" width=\"135\" height=\"185\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/phil-burns\/files\/2010\/10\/image003.jpg 135w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/phil-burns\/files\/2010\/10\/image003-80x110.jpg 80w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 135px) 100vw, 135px\" \/>We send you warm greetings from Florida, once again.\u00a0 We are enjoying the weather here for the time being.\u00a0 Our highs are in the mid eighties and our lows in the low sixties, and the humidity has dropped way down.\u00a0 It\u2019s great!\u00a0 It is supposed to stay nice like this through Friday, so we shall see which way it goes after that.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0We went to our mission\u2019s beach retreat last weekend.\u00a0 It was a good time for all who attended, with a pizza night and an ice cream social the next.\u00a0 However, it ended with sadness.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Sunday morning we had a time of praise and open sharing.\u00a0 We sang some songs and then those who wanted to could share what was on their heart.\u00a0 Paul, one of the men who worked in our computer department shared thoughts about a loved one and some friends from church who had recently\u00a0died, four of them in one month.\u00a0 He said we sometimes wonder what God is doing, but we need to trust Him.\u00a0 He ended by saying that God is in control.\u00a0 He sat down and we started to sing \u201cAmazing Love.\u201d\u00a0 Before we had sung to the second chorus, Paul suffered a heart attack and never regained consciousness despite efforts to resuscitate him. He now knows what God is doing, and his faith in Christ and trust in God has put him in a much better place.<\/p>\n<p>It was a vivid reminder that none of us knows what a day may bring forth.\u00a0 We need to live everyday as if it were our last day on earth, pleasing God in all we do, think, or say.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-826\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/phil-burns\/files\/2010\/10\/image004-199x300.jpg\" alt=\"image004\" width=\"199\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/phil-burns\/files\/2010\/10\/image004-199x300.jpg 199w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/phil-burns\/files\/2010\/10\/image004-73x110.jpg 73w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/phil-burns\/files\/2010\/10\/image004-166x250.jpg 166w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/phil-burns\/files\/2010\/10\/image004.jpg 332w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 199px) 100vw, 199px\" \/>Just to let you know, God is at work around the world.\u00a0 The Wano people of Indonesia are hearing about Jesus for the first time.\u00a0 The people are asking questions as they hear the stories.\u00a0 Lekiman asked, \u201cWe know we must believe on the coming Redeemer, but what must we believe about him?\u00a0 Our insides are eating us!\u201d\u00a0 He really wanted to know the answer.\u00a0 Igarowe said, \u201cSince the time I was born, I have been in Satan\u2019s hand, and I am his child.\u00a0 Is there any way that I can join with Yahweh God?\u00a0 I am scared.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The missionaries hope to complete the lessons this month.\u00a0 Please pray for those missionaries and others like them around the world who are in various stages of teaching God\u2019s word to tribal people.
