{"id":977,"date":"2012-03-25T23:51:33","date_gmt":"2012-03-26T03:51:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/phil-burns\/?p=977"},"modified":"2012-06-06T15:13:47","modified_gmt":"2012-06-06T19:13:47","slug":"gracia-burnham-visits-our-mission-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/phil-burns\/2012\/03\/25\/gracia-burnham-visits-our-mission-school\/","title":{"rendered":"Gracia Burnham Visits our Mission School"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our mission school just had <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ntmbooks.com\/in-the-presence-of-my-enemies-paperback\">Gracia Burnham<\/a><\/strong> speak in a chapel for the school kids.\u00a0 You may remember that in May of 2001 Martin and Gracia were kidnapped from an island in the Philippines.\u00a0 They had served as missionaries with New Tribes in the Philippines for 17 years.\u00a0 Martin was a missionary pilot, flying missionaries, supplies, mail, and the sick and wounded and also encouraging those he came in contact with.\u00a0 On May 27, they were kidnapped by a militant group.\u00a0 Martin and Gracia were with the group for over a year when a firefight broke out. Martin was killed in the crossfire. Gracia was wounded, but was freed and returned to the States.\u00a0 As Gracia shared her testimony and told what\u00a0 happened to a few of the group who had been her captors, the kids were mesmerized.
